Eurasia Rail 2012: Funkwerk presents its product range on the Turkish market
In the field of passenger information the Solar(L)ink, a solar-powered display module for small stations and stops (railway, tram, bus), will be on show for the first time. Serial production of this device began in 2011. Its most important features are excellent readability in electronic ink technology, extremely low power consumption, freedom from maintenance and easy installation and start-up. Solar(L)ink is ideal for stops not equipped with power or data supply. The device is controlled from a central server via GPRS/GSM. Furthermore, an economical and robust TFT display will be presented which is designed for flexible installation and connection to passenger information systems and therefore optimally suitable for use in all station areas. The very successful and widely used CAIMAN software platform for reliable management of passenger information and a modular system for information, security and entertainment in mobile environments will also be on show. Funkwerk's Alister Platform is a modern interlocking solution which was designed in compliance with the current CENELEC standards and is based on standard industrial components approved up to SIL 4. Alister's modular system offers not only considerable cost advantages throughout the entire life-cycle of the product, but also greater flexibility, as this platform can be used for passenger traffic as well as in marshalling yards, gravity hump operations, depots and industrial railways. The BEST operations and interlocking simulation system for practice-oriented training of control centre and interlocking operators will also be presented. This cost-effective training system has a number of advantages: the training time is shorter, personnel are better prepared for taking the correct action, also in critical situations, and thus safety during rail operations is enhanced. Every year about 3,500 train controllers throughout Europe take part in training courses with the BEST system. With MESA 23 Funkwerk is showing a version of the world-wide most successful series of railway radio communication terminals. The GSM-R device for communication between trains and control centres can be adapted to specific national requirements as well as to the spatial and technical conditions in railway vehicles. The dual-mode hand-held radios of the focX product family are Funkwerk's portable GSM-R solution. Designed with IP Code IP 65, these devices are suitable for many different areas of application, even under difficult conditions. In addition, Funkwerk also supplies GSM-R radio devices for ETCS train control as well as inspection and measuring technology for installation and service purposes. Funkwerk AG Funkwerk AG, which has its head office in Kölleda near Erfurt in Thuringia, specialises in solution-oriented information and communication systems for transport and traffic, vehicles, security and data networks. Funkwerk's systems automate, rationalise and secure the operating processes of a wide range of customer groups, from private enterprises to public institutions. With its three divisions Traffic & Control Communication (communication, management and information systems for transport and logistics companies), Automotive Communication (communication and infotainment systems for vehicles) and Security Communication (personal security and video surveillance), Funkwerk is strategically well positioned in the markets of the future. The Funkwerk technology group has approx. 1,400 employees and recently reported sales worth approx. 211 million Euros. Funkwerk at Eurasia Rail, Istanbul Expo Center, Hall 10, Stand C16.
