| Signalling Technology – All set for the future |
 |
The growing pressure on regional railways to lower costs can only be relieved by rationalising operation of small and medium-sized stations. To achieve this, several thousand interlockings throughout Europe will have to be renewed in the course of the next ten years. In co-operation with the Swedish infrastructure operator Banverket, who also commissioned the project, Funkwerk Information Technologies Malmö AB has developed a new European-standard interlocking system specifically for this purpose.
The special feature of this unique interlocking system is that it uses standard industrial components – this guarantees a cost-effective and modular system architecture which can be flexibly configurated to comply with customers’ specifications.
In addition to the
electronic interlockings for small and medium-sized stations (Alister) Funkwerk Information Technologies Malmö AB also supplies interlocking systems for
marshalling yards, industrial railways and depots (AlisterCargo) and control systems – all based on industrial standards.
